A couple who dined at a Korean BBQ restaurant claim they saw a waitress wash the lettuce leftover from their meal and then serve it to another customer.Jack and his partner Wendy visited the venue in Geelong on Wednesday night, and were stunned by what they witnessed. ‘The most disgusting meal experience I ever had in my life,’ he said in a TikTok video. When their meals came out, Wendy said to her partner: ‘Don’t eat the lettuce. Just don’t eat it’.’So, it comes out and I’m looking at the lettuce and it’s kind of warm and looks a bit s***,’ Jack said.’She goes, “Don’t eat the lettuce because if you don’t finish it, they just serve it to the next customer.” I was like, “They don’t do that.”‘After they finished their meals, there was some leftover springs rolls, bits of pumpkin and the lettuce Jack was warned not to eat.Jack claimed he saw the waitress dump the spring rolls in the bin before returning to collect the rest.’At this point, I’m watching to see what she does and she walks to the kitchen, past the bin. She goes past the bin, and I’m like, “What are you doing?”‘ Jack said.’Inside the kitchen is this big window where they pass the meals through the hole and I’m looking through this hole.’Jack claimed he saw the waitress rinse the lettuce under a tap before then serving it as part of the meal for a diner sitting next to the couple. Wendy was unsurprised but her partner could not believe what he had witnessed.’Oh my God, the revolving door of soggy lettuce,’ Jack said.’If you’re looking for Korean BBQ in Geelong, maybe look elsewhere. Go to Melbourne instead.’Many social media users asked which Korean restaurant it was, but Jack refused to identify it. Wendy warned Jack what to expect at a Korean restaurant on Wednesday night’Yeah, report that to council so they can be inspected. That’s a massive issue,’ one said.’But why throw out the spring rolls and recycle the lettuce when lettuce is worth like nothing?’ another questioned. Some very forgiving commenters defended the restaurant’s food recycling practice.’No restaurant wastes food, it’s money from their pocket,’ one wrote.’Lettuce was washed, it’s no biggie,’ another said. Some even wondered why the couple went to the restaurant if they knew in advance that this would happen.’Surely I’m not the only one wondering why your partner would ever choose to eat there if she knew what the lettuce situation was,’ one wrote.’And also proceed to order an item that uses a bed of lettuce?’
