As International Women’s Day approaches, the world will celebrate the achievements and resilience of women everywhere.

But while we uplift their successes, we must also recognize the weight these enduring women carry.

“Women have been conditioned to put everyone else first, often at the expense of their own health,” asserts Jaya Jaya Myra, former immunologist turned mind-body wellness expert. “While society applauds the strength of women, it rarely asks them how they’re feeling. True strength isn’t about how much we endure—it’s about knowing when to rest, when to set boundaries, and when to nourish ourselves.”

Jaya Jaya Myra shares five mindful ways women can care for their triad health and overall wellness:

  1. Create Moments of Stillness: Whether it’s a few minutes of deep breathing, meditation, or simply sitting in silence, stillness allows women to reconnect with themselves and reduce stress.

  2. Set Boundaries Without Guilt: Learning to say no is a powerful act of self-care. Protect your time and energy by prioritizing what truly nourishes you.

  3. Nourish Your Body with Intention: Food is fuel, and choosing nutrient-rich meals can impact both mood and energy levels. Hydration, whole foods, and mindful eating all play a role in feeling balanced.

  4. Move in Ways That Feel Good: Exercise doesn’t have to be about rigid routines. Dancing, yoga, walking in nature—any form of movement that brings joy can boost endorphins and reduce stress.

  5. Embrace Rest as a Form of Strength: Sleep, relaxation, and downtime are not weaknesses. They are essential for emotional and physical resilience.

“Women must give themselves the same care and compassion they so freely offer to others.”
