Newcastle’s spectacular fireworks display is back for 2024 and with two special displays it is set to be better than ever!
The FREE public displays are back by popular demand, the first time since 2019. With an early and late display, it’s the perfect way for families and revelers to both enjoy the celebrations.

Fireworks Spectacular
Celebrate the arrival of 2025 in style with two show stopping firework displays lighting up the Newcastle and Gateshead Quayside this New Year’s Eve.
Date: Tuesday, 31 December 2024
Times:
- 6:00 PM – A family-friendly display for an early New Year celebration.
- Midnight – A spectacular display to welcome in the New Year in style.
Location: The best views are from the designated viewing areas along the Newcastle Quayside (under the Tyne Bridge to the Cycle Hub) and Baltic Square on Gateshead Quayside. Fireworks will also be visible from various other spots across Newcastle and Gateshead.
Experience two breathtaking 15-minute displays created by the award-winning Reaction Fireworks, set against the iconic backdrop of the Tyne Bridge and the Quayside.
Arrive early to soak up the atmosphere, with live entertainment an hour before each display. Keep an eye out for walkabout performers and local traders as you explore the nearby restaurants, cafes, and bars for a complete evening of celebrations.

Step into the magic of the circus with our Greatest Showman Show Night, hosted by none other than Britain’s Got Talent Winner Matt Pagan.
But the fun doesn’t stop there! kids Greatest Show at Purple Peacock offers a variety of exciting activities. Your little ones can join in on party games, Meet and greet an incredible array of characters from the iconic movie, sing their hearts out karaoke, and take part in dance-a-long’s that will make them feel like they’re in their very own musical.
To add to the excitement, we have a sweet cart filled with a variety of sweets, colourful candy floss, and mouth-watering popcorn to enjoy. Treat them to a taste of the magical world of the circus!

The Assembly Room’s Masquerade Ball, Newcastle
Make this New Year’s Eve a night to remember with The Assembly Rooms’ magnificent masquerade ball. Get your glad rags on and dance the night away to music from the Storm Party Band at one of the most glamorous venues in town.
