At least a dozen 2025 movies will be mastered for the newly-launched HDR by Barco laser projectors, the cinema tech developer revealed at CinemaCon. They include Universal’s “How to Train Your Dragon,” which opens June 13 and received an enthusiastic reception when it premiered Wednesday at the theater owners confab.

In addition to dragons, Universal is bringing dinosaurs to the format. “Jurassic World Rebirth,” which opens July 2, will also get an HDR by Barco release. The next film in the franchise stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali.

This week Barco also revealed that Sony’s “Karate Kid: Legends” and “28 Years Later” will have HDR by Barco releases. Starring original Karate Kid Ralph Macchio, Ben Wang and the legendary Jackie Chan, “Legends” is comes to theaters on May 30 and Danny Boyle’s zombie thriller “28 Years Later” arrives on June 20.

Already this year, Paramount’s “Novocaine” and Amazon MGM Studios’ “A Working Man” were released in the HDR format for supported theaters. Game-to-film adaptation “A Minecraft Movie” from Legendary, Warner Bros. and Microsoft debuts in supported theaters on April 4, and Warners’ Ryan Coogler-helmed “Sinners,” starring Michael B. Jordan, arrives April 18.

Previously announced titles that will have HDR by Barco releases this month also include “Warfare” written and directed by Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza and “Civil War” helmer Alex Garland for A24 (April 11); and Ben Affleck-starring thriller “The Accountant 2” for Amazon MGM (April 25).

Also at CinemaCon, Barco unwrapped its new mFusion ICMP-XS integrated audio and media server and Smart Amplifier, designed to work with Barco series 4 laser projectors, which are all on display at the convention.
