Jeremy Allen White proved he fits perfectly in the bum-hugging jeans of Bruce Springsteen, debuting a compelling first trailer for a biopic of the “Dancing in the Dark ” singer at CinemaCon 2025.

White, winner of many golden trophies for his work on Hulu’s “The Bear,” showed up to the annual convention of movie theater owners with costar Jeremy Strong in tow. Speaking with new Disney distribution chief Andrew Cripps during the studio’s presentation, the actor talked up the pressure presented by the film, titled “Deliver Me From Nowhere.”

“It was incredible, challenging, and a dream come true. I feel really lucky. We all had Bruce’s blessing. The film tells the story of a very pivotal moment, Bruce struggling to reconcile the pressures of success versus his past,” said White.

A trailer cut exclusively for the theater owners opened with White as Springsteen on a New Jersey car lot, test driving a Chevy 305. “I know who you are,” the dealer tells him, leaning into the window. White smiles and says, “That makes one of us.”

Strong plays Jon Landau, manager and confidante to Springsteen who, in the early ’80s, helped him tune out the noise of fame and expectations to drill down into his artistry. A montage of young Springsteen plays, showing a father (played by recent “Adolescence” breakout star and co-creator Stephen Graham) determined to raise a fighter and a mother trying to teach him compassion and grace.

“When Bruce was little, he had a hole in the floor of his bedroom. A floor thats supposed to be solid? He’s supposed to be able to stand on, Bruce didn’t have that,” Strong says in voiceover. “Bruce is a repairman. What he’s doing with this album is, he’s repairing that hole in his floor. Repairing that thole in himself. Once he’s done that, he’s going to repair the entire world.”

The footage ends on what is easily the biggest test of the movie for White: a live performance of what is arguably Springsteen’s most iconic song, “Born to Run.” The actor nails Springsteen’s raspy croon, tossing his sweat-drenched hair on stage and ending in a split that brings his electric guitar down to the floor with him.

Searchlight Pictures will release “Deliver Me From Nowhere” in late 2025.
