Season 2 of The Rehearsal is nearly here, and just when you thought Nathan Fielder could not keep you on your toes any longer, he continues to do just that.

HBO has released a first look at the next installment of Fielder’s comedy, which is one of Max‘s most highly anticipated April releases.

As noted in the show’s logline, The Rehearsal “follows one man’s (Fielder) journey to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life.”

“With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder helps ordinary people prepare for life’s biggest moments by ‘rehearsing’ them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design,” the logline continues.

Season 1 saw Fielder help a man navigate how to tell his intense bar trivia team that he does not in fact have a masters degree, and also featured Fielder helping raise a child with a woman named Angela, who ultimately left the show.

According to the network, in The Rehearsal Season 2, “the urgency of Fielder’s project grows as he decides to put his resources toward an issue that affects us all. “

The Rehearsal Season 2 trailer (which you can check out above) kicks off with none other than Fielder, who reveals that he’s “been studying commercial aviation disasters as a hobby.”

“And I started to notice a disturbing pattern in the causes of these crashes,” he continues.

Fielder steps up, offering his money and “experience in creating elaborate role-playing scenarios” in order to get to the bottom of what may be causing these crashes.

“Let’s work together to save some lives,” he says.

Fielder’s iconic cringe comedy is infused throughout the trailer, which teases the outrageous measures he is willing to take for his series.

Joel Keller recommended the show in DECIDER’s The Rehearsal Season 1 review, writing that The Rehearsal “continues the Nathan Fielder brand of elaborate schemes, awkward interactions, and overall funny situations that he built with Nathan For You.”

“And we’re very happy he’s back doing his thing,” he added.

The Rehearsal Season 2 premieres on HBO April 20, following The Righteous Gemstones. Episodes will begin streaming on Max on Sundays at 10:30 p.m. ET.
