Netflix’s groundbreaking limited series hit “Adolescence” has skyrocked to the top of the Nielsen charts. Per the ratings giant, the series scored 1.44 billion minutes during the week of March 17 to March 23 — its first full week of availability. That was up 59% vs the previous week, when it debuted at No. 9. Nielsen pointed out that the show particularly overindexed with adults 35-64 (56%) and Hispanic viewers (26%).

On the film side, “Wicked” is a wicked hit on streaming. The blockbuster film, which dropped March 21 on Peacock, landed on Nielsen’s ranker of the top 10 streaming programs for the week ending March 23 — clocking 905 million minutes viewed even though it was only available for three days that week. “Wicked” did well with both kids 2-11 and adults 18-49, per Nielsen.

That performance was good enough to make “Wicked” the No. 2 movie of the week, behind juggernaut “Moana 2,” which clocked 1.13 billion minutes for the week — good enough for No. 3 overall and No. 1 with movies.

Meanwhile, Netflix’s new Shonda Rhimes entry “The Residence” was at No. 2 for the week, with 1.36 billion minutes, buoyed by the largest concentration of Black viewers (25%) of any original series. At No. 4 was Prime Video’s “Reacher,” which has now attracted at least a billion minutes viewed for five weeks. streak (now at 5 weeks) with 1.1B viewing minutes this interval.

With “The Wheel of Time” and “Invincible” also in the originals top 10 list, that’s the second week in a row Prime Video has had three titles on the chart.

Also, Apple TV+’s “Severance” hit a new weekly high (876 millions) as its Season 2 finale ran during this week’s chart. This marks the show’s first time in the overall top 10, having already appeared in the originals top 10 throughout this season’s run. “Severance” had the highest concentration of adult 18-49 viewers (71%) among original series.

Other records include the Max run of “The White Lotus,” which hit a series high 973 million minutes — placing it No. 7 overall. And Max’s “The Pitt” made it to the originals Top 10 for the first time, with 466 million minutes — good enough for No. 8 on that chart.

Library shows continuing in the overall top 10 include “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Bluey” and “Family Guy.”
