Sony Pictures Television (SPT) is gearing up to unveil its latest acquisition, 100 Choices, a groundbreaking family-friendly competition format, at the highly anticipated London Screenings. This dynamic and entertaining show, acquired from Japan’s Fany Studio, promises to captivate audiences worldwide with its unique blend of brain-teasing questions and physical challenges. 100 Choices is not just another game show; it’s a fresh, engaging format that combines intelligence, physical skill, and teamwork, making it a standout addition to the world of family entertainment.

At the heart of 100 Choices is a simple yet thrilling concept: contestants are presented with a nearly impossible question and 100 potential answers. The challenge? They must narrow down the correct answer by tackling five physical challenges. Each successful challenge allows them to eliminate a set of incorrect options, gradually bringing them closer to the right answer. This innovative format ensures that contestants—and viewers at home—stay on the edge of their seats, blending humor, strategy, and excitement into one cohesive package. Whether it’s solving riddles, completing physical obstacles, or working together as a team, 100 Choices delivers non-stop entertainment that appeals to all ages.

The show’s versatility is another key factor in its global potential. Designed to be adaptable, 100 Choices can be produced both in a prime-time studio setting or on location, giving broadcasters the flexibility to tailor the format to their audiences. This adaptability is one of the reasons SPT saw the show’s potential for international success. Originally developed by Fany Studio in Tokyo, 100 Choices first aired in October 2023 on BS Yoshimoto as part of the World Homerun Factory series, where it quickly gained attention for its unique premise and global appeal.

SPT, recognizing the show’s potential, acquired the global distribution rights after its successful showcase at the 2023 Asia TV Forum. To ensure its successful rollout worldwide, SPT has teamed up with leading local production companies, including Stellify (UK), B17 Entertainment (U.S.), Curio (Australia), Teleset (Mexico), and Floresta (Brazil). These partnerships will help adapt the format to local cultures while maintaining its core essence. According to Laura St. Clair, SVP of International Formats at SPT, “100 Choices is a unique new take on family entertainment and comedy game show genres. We love the strength of the central format premise, which makes it suitable for both weekend studio prime time and location shoots.”

The excitement around 100 Choices is shared by Fany Studio as well. Mari Kawamura of Fany Studio expressed her enthusiasm, saying, “The 100 Choices format idea was originally the first episode in the World Homerun Factory series airing on BS Yoshimoto. The series brought together the brains of comedians and producers to create global formats. I am deeply impressed by how this format embodies the very essence of the HomerunFactory mission through its adaptability and international relevance. 100 Choices strives to take flight in the global market now. With the support of SPT, I sincerely hope this format will become one that is loved around the world.”

The official unveiling of 100 Choices at SPT’s London Screenings 2025 on February 27th marks a major milestone in its global rollout. The event will offer exclusive previews of SPT’s latest non-scripted formats and scripted drama titles, giving industry professionals a first look at what’s in store for audiences worldwide. With its unique blend of physical challenges, brain-teasers, and family-friendly humor, 100 Choices is poised to become a global phenomenon. As SPT and Fany Studio work together to bring this show to life across different territories, viewers can expect a fresh, exciting, and inclusive entertainment experience that transcends borders and cultures, proving that great ideas truly know no limits.
