Teddi Mellencamp confirmed she has stage 4 cancer after doctors found more tumors in her brain.
“I woke up to so many kind messages,” the former “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star said in a video on her Instagram Stories Wednesday, per People.
“I just want to say thank you guys so much. So many messages about how strong I am. And I gotta tell you, some days I feel really, really strong and some days I feel really, really sad and alone. And I think that’s a normal part of what any of us are going through, and that’s okay.”
Mellencamp, 43, then detailed how the disease had progressed, writing that “stage 4 cancer can be scary.”
The former Bravolebrity went on to say she thought she “had beaten” cancer only to find out more heartbreaking, unfortunate news.
“And then a couple days later, I found out I had four more tumors,” she shared. “So there’s so many different highs and lows.”
Despite the news, Mellencamp remains hopeful, sharing a photo of herself undergoing treatment that will “hopefully” save her life.
A day after making the announcement, the former reality star hit back at a fan who labeled her cancer “terminal.”
“These kind of comments make me really sad,” she commented. “I know people are trying to help but heart breaking for me to read. “
Mellencamp continued, “Of course I know the chances but I truly believe with my whole heart I will beat this and watch my kids graduate. Vent on the pod and have everyone get mad at me. Annoy my siblings by reminding everyone I am the favorite. Etc.”
The mom of three, who was previously diagnosed with skin cancer, announced to her Instagram followers last month that doctors found “multiple tumors” on her brain.
“Two of the tumors will be surgically removed today. The remaining smaller tumors will be dealt with via radiation at a later date,” she said at the time.
Following the surgery, Mellencamp’s estranged husband, Edwin Arroyave, said she was “grateful” for all the support she’s received.
The nutrition and wellness coach has received an outpour of support from her fellow “Housewives,” including her podcast co-host, Tamra Judge, Dorit Kemsley, Kyle Richards and Denise Richards.
