Jax Taylor checked himself into a mental health facility after having an explosive argument with his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.
“I don’t want this to be my life anymore. I am going to a treatment center,” Taylor said in a teaser for the Season 2 premiere of “The Valley,” airing Tuesday night.
Taylor was then seen looking uneasy as he rode in a car to the treatment facility.
“I’m not going to lie to you, I’m a little scared,” he admitted to someone in the driver’s seat who was not shown on camera.
Prior to seeking professional help, Taylor and Cartwright’s tense argument was captured by Bravo cameras.
“What have you been doing the last five months?” Taylor, 45, screamed at Cartwright, 36, in their kitchen, prompting her to hit back, “I hooked up with somebody while I was separated.”
Cartwright went on to tell Taylor that she would be “filing [for divorce] right away” and would be seeking full custody of their son, Cruz.
“And I’m putting a restraining order against you,” she said as tears streamed down her face before accusing him of going out and “getting drunk [and] running around with sluts.”
Cartwright was seen begging Taylor to “get help” for himself and for their now-4-year-old child.
“He cannot grow up and become a person like you,” she shouted at him, referring to Cruz.
Taylor broke down in tears as he realized that he wouldn’t get to see their kid for a month while in the facility.
“I’m gonna miss you,” he told Cruz as they hugged goodbye.
The emotional teaser ended with Taylor filming himself crying as he begs, “Help me, because I can’t be helped.”
Cartwright revealed in February 2024 that she and Taylor had separated after five years of marriage. Six months later, she filed for divorce.
The former bartender entered the inpatient facility in late July 2024, telling fans that he wanted to work on his “serious anger issues” and “get better” for Cruz.
While receiving treatment, he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder and learned that he’s a narcissist.
Upon returning home, Taylor was handed divorce papers.
Last month, Taylor revealed that he struggled with cocaine addiction but that he was more than 80 days sober.
“This is tough to say. … I’m an addict. I have substance issues, primarily with cocaine. Oh, that’s hard to say out loud. I’ve been dealing with this for I think the last — on and off, since I was 23. I’m 45,” he said on Bravo’s “Hot Mic” podcast at the time.
“There was times where I would stop doing it and then there was times where I’d go heavy on it. I think a lot of people who watched ‘Vanderpump Rules’ over the years could kinda tell that I was on something.”
While the “Vanderpump Rules” alum said he isn’t addicted to alcohol, he admitted to doing cocaine when he drinks.
“The two go hand in hand. I can’t do cocaine without drinking, so I just gave up both, and I’m proud to say I’m 82, 83 days sober right now,” he shared.
Cartwright recently admitted that she would never forgive Taylor for refusing to move out of their marital home after their separation.
“Jax would not leave for seven months, while I had to move to different rental houses,” she told People in an interview published Sunday. “I even said that he could move into the rental houses that I paid for. He still wouldn’t do it. No matter what.”
She continued, “I wanted to be here. I feel like I made this house a home. Cruz was born here. This is his house. He’s got his pool outside; he’s got his swing set. He’s got his playroom. He’s got everything here.”
“When you’re dealing with a child with autism, we shouldn’t be the ones moving around,” she said of herself and Cruz, who was diagnosed with the condition in fall 2024. “That should have never happened. But that’s just how Jax is.”
Taylor eventually purchased a condo in Hollywood, Calif., in December 2024 — though Cartwright claimed he only did that to avoid criticism once the cameras started rolling.
“That’s probably the only reason he finally moved out, I’m not even going to lie,” she claimed.
