Vince Vaughn dropped by the Oval Office on Friday, becoming the latest celebrity to swing through President Trump’s White House—and giving the social media team some meme-worthy material.
The official White House account on X had a little fun with the visit, posting a fake movie poster dubbed “White House Crashers.” The image showed Vaughn and Trump at the Resolute Desk, riffing off the actor’s role in the 2005 comedy Wedding Crashers.
The visit wasn’t on the president’s public schedule, and the White House didn’t offer up any official explanation.
Vaughn, 55, has been open about his political leanings. In a New York Times Magazine profile last year, he called himself a libertarian and said he’s a “believer more in allowing individuals to make choices.”
“I’d rather say let people make their choices, and they can make different choices and have the consequences of their choices,” he said.
This wasn’t the first time Vaughn and Trump have crossed paths. The two were seen chatting at the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship game. After some backlash, Vaughn downplayed the moment, saying it was their first meeting.
“In my career I’ve met a lot of politicians who I’ve always been cordial to,” he told the Los Angeles Times later that year. “I don’t have a party that I support and endorse. In fact, for me sometimes it’s difficult to find a candidate that you feel is philosophically consistent and not just going along with whoever is funding their particular party.”
No word yet on what brought Vaughn to the White House this time—neither the actor nor the president’s team has commented on the visit.
Since returning to office in January, Trump has welcomed a colorful lineup of athletes, celebrities, and conservative icons to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
