The View was down one of its iconic co-hosts once again this morning. When the show opened today we say Whoopi Goldberg, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro and Sunny Hostin, but no Joy Behar.
Behar’s absence comes just days after she missed the Tuesday (April 8) episode this week, when Navarro was also tapped to fill her seat at the Hot Topics table. However, Behar was present yesterday, for the Wednesday (April 9) show.
When we saw her last, Behar was discussing President Donald Trump’s tariff plans with her co-hosts. During the chat, Griffin said she wanted to hear from DOGE boss Elon Musk about the tariffs, since he was directly affected after losing money (although he gained plenty back in the tariff rollback.)
“Elon Musk, who I don’t agree with on much of anything, I don’t know why he’s overseeing DOGE, I’d actually love to hear from him on tariffs,” Griffin said. “He has experience running a business, he employs 100,000 people in this country, he understands supply chains. This would be a good time for him to chime in.”
Also on yesterday’s show, Behar and her co-hosts slammed Trump for planning a military parade the same day as his 79th birthday.
When Goldberg noted that Trump is “still taking [her] tax money” as he plans the big celebration, Behar retorted, “Who do you think is paying for this?!”

Where is Joy Behar on The View?
The View did not address Behar’s absence when the show opened this morning, but she did say on yesterday’s show that she wasn’t feeling her best. Guest Amanda Peet was quick to point out that Behar was not on the show when she stopped by to promote her new Apple TV+ series Your Friends and Neighbors.
“I do miss that Joy is not here,” Peet told the table, before giving her best Behar impression: “On the other hand, so what?! Who cares?”

We have our fingers crossed that Behar will be back on The View tomorrow! Since she normally takes over moderator duties for Goldberg on Fridays, we’re hoping she’ll be back at the Hot Topics table so Goldberg can have her much-deserved three-day weekend.
