Yes! Great news, Abbott Elementary fans. ABC renewed the beloved comedy for Season 5 back on January 21 following its stretch of highly-rated winter 2024 episodes. As Deadline reported, “The Jan. 8 crossover episode with FXX’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia hit series high in total viewers (8.05 million) and adults 18-49 (2.57 rating) in multi-platform viewing (excluding the show’s post-Oscars episode last season) and scored series high episode views on streaming, based on the first seven days on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.”
More recently, in a February 7 ratings release, ABC reported that Abbott Elementary ranked third on the Top 10 Broadcast Series Among Adults 18-49. The series ranked behind new series Shifting Gears and High Potential, which also air on ABC.
Rather than having Abbott‘s core cast announce the fifth season, the series shined a spotlight on Abbott’s students and had a few of its young actors share the good news. The celebratory video accompanied the caption, “Season 5, here we come! Join your favorite staff and students for more #AbbottElementary on ABC and stream on Hulu.”
Abbott Elementary Season 5 Premiere Date: When Does Abbott Elementary Return With New Episodes?
Since it’s still so early, an official premiere date for Abbott Elementary Season 5 has yet to be announced. The 2023 strikes distrusted Season 3’s schedule and episode count. But based on the premiere dates for all four seasons, we can likely expect a return at some point in late 2025 or early 2026. For reference, here are the premiere and finale dates of each season.
