A pensioner has revealed she has entered the Miss Universe competition.
The 69-year-old model Jocelyn Cubales, also known as Joyce Peñas Pilarsky, is competing in the local rounds of the beauty contest in the Philippines.
The raven-haired OAP, who is a fashion designer in her hometown of Quezon, will be vying for the title of Miss Universe Philippines – Quezon City on February 5.
Jocelyn is one of 15 women who have entered the competition. If she wins the local rounds, she will go on to compete for the national title of Miss Universe Philippines and a chance to represent her country in the finals in Mexico in September.
Jocelyn believes the younger generation could learn a lot from her and she wants to inspire other Filipino women to go after their dreams, not matter what age they are.
Jocelyn is no stranger to the competition. She entered in 2017 when she was presented with the title of “Mother of the Universe” for her charity work in the Philippines.
Last year, the Miss Universe Philippines winner Michelle Dee finished in the Top 10 of the global competition.
