Food lovers will be delighted by The River Restaurant’s exclusive holiday offerings. Savour luxurious seasonal menus that blend modern European cuisine with festive flair, featuring delicacies like confit chicken rillettes with pickled wild mushrooms, turkey ballotine with duck-fat roasties, smoked pancetta sprouts, root vegetables, and cranberry jus. End on a sweet note with comforting treats like sticky date cake topped with roasted caramelized apples.
The festive menu is available Monday through Saturday throughout December, offering two courses for £34.50 and three courses for £39.50, for both lunch and dinner.
On Christmas Day, The River Restaurant will serve a decadent feast of classic holiday dishes, including cream of spiced pumpkin soup with carrot crisps, turkey ballotine with luxurious trimmings, and roast sirloin of beef with crushed tarragon potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. For dessert, indulge in a traditional Christmas pudding with brandy sauce and ice cream. Christmas Day dining is available to book now for £170 per adult, including a glass of festive fizz upon arrival, and £49 per child.
Additionally, the restaurant is offering a seasonal twist on its classic afternoon tea, with a selection of savoury and sweet delights. Enjoy festive sandwiches including turkey, stuffing, and cranberry or sausage meat with honey-glazed Parma ham, followed by sweets such as white chocolate, passionfruit, & mango cheesecake, along with the beloved scones. Upgrade the traditional afternoon tea (£39.50 per person) to a Champagne and gin afternoon tea for £47.50.
For little ones, the much-loved ‘Breakfast with Santa’ returns, promising a magical morning filled with holiday joy. Families can enjoy a festive breakfast as children write out their wish lists before meeting Santa himself to share their holiday dreams and receive a special gift. Breakfast with Santa can be booked from 8am-12pm on Saturday 14th and Thursday 19th December.
The celebrations continue with luxurious overnight stay packages, perfect for a city staycation. Options include the ‘Festive Christmas Stay’ package, which includes accommodation, a festive lunch and breakfast at The River Restaurant, and a late 1 p.m. check-out.
