Police swooped on a Liverpool primary school last week after an 11-year-old girl pulled out a kitchen knife whilst playing with friends. Officers from Merseyside Police are investigating after the weapon, said to be brought from the girl’s home, was found at Lingham Primary School, Wirral on March 25. A group of girls had been playing when one of them brought out the knife, it has been reported.The school later became aware of the incident and the police were called at around 2.20pm.When officers attended, the knife was located and it was confirmed that no-one had been hurt.Merseyside Police said that ‘appropriate safeguarding measures’ were put in place.  Officers from Merseyside Police are investigating after the weapon, said to be brought from the girl’s home, was found at Lingham Primary School, Wirral on March 25Wirral Local Policing Chief Inspector Dave Morgan said: ‘We understand the concern that such incidents can cause, especially at one of our junior schools.’Officers will remain in liaison with the school and our partners to offer reassurance to pupils, parents, carers and staff alike.’In the meantime, should you have any information about young people carrying weapons, please come forward.’Lingham Primary School staff have confirmed there was an incident on March 25. Merseyside Police asked anyone with information about young people carrying weapons to contact them via @MerpolCC on X, 101 or through Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.Lingham Primary School has been contacted for comment.
