Meghan Markle got candid about her experience with childbirth on the debut episode of her new podcast “Confessions of a Female Founder,” revealing that she suffered from postpartum preeclampsia.

Markle’s guest, Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd, also experienced postpartum preeclampsia, which is estimated to occur in 4-6% of pregnant women.
“It’s so rare and so scary, and you’re still trying to juggle all of these things and the world doesn’t know what’s happening quietly,” Markle said. “In the quiet, you’re still trying to show up for people, and in the quiet, you’re still just trying to show up mostly for your children. But those things are huge medical scares.”

I was like, ‘Please don’t look at me! Leave it down the street!’”
“Confessions of a Female Founder” is Markle’s latest venture following the debut of her Netflix lifestyle show “With Love, Meghan” and the launch of her brand As Ever. The podcast, from Lemonada Media, is set to feature conversations with fellow female entrepreneurs and consists of eight weekly-released episodes. Markle signed a deal with Lemonada last year after she and Prince Harry’s exclusive pact with Spotify came to an end in mid-2023.
