Footage of Mickey Rourke‘s “Celebrity Big Brother” exit has been released, including an apology from the actor and former boxer after he got the boot for “inappropriate language and unacceptable behavior.”
In the clip, uploaded to YouTube on Sunday, Big Brother informs Rourke that he has been kicked out of the house after a disagreement with Chris Hughes in which his language was “threatening and aggressive,” in addition to using “inappropriate sexual language” with Ella Rae Wise. Rourke agrees with Big Brother’s assessment of his interaction with Hughes — in which Rourke began cussing at Hughes after he looked at him when discussing a “rat” in the house — but says he was “not aware of that” in regards to Wise. Earlier in the episode, when Wise said Rourke must come with her, he replied: “Come in you?”
Rourke was already in hot water on “Celebrity Big Brother” due to comments he made toward JoJo Siwa that she said were homophobic. For that, Rourke received a formal warning. Things then further spiraled outside of the house when his former co-star Bella Thorne accused him of on-set misconduct. “These allegations are extremely serious. Mr. Rourke adamantly denies any intentional misconduct,” a representative for Rourke told Variety in part. “He was not made aware of any such concerns during filming and had no prior knowledge of Ms. Thorne’s discomfort until now.”
After Big Brother informs Rourke he has been kicked out, he proceeds to apologize. “I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line and I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing,” he says. “Because I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life. And I wish I would have had better self control and I’m very sorry. I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there.”
Rourke goes on to say: “I blame myself. I know it was my bad, you know, I’ve got a short fuse. I know I upset a lot of people out there. I’m sorry for that. I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess I could say I’m a work in progress.”
