World sales agency 13 Films has boarded dark comedy “The Trainer,” the new film from “American History X” director Tony Kaye, and will be screening the film for buyers at the Cannes Film Market next month.

The film had its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival, and will have its North American premiere at the Tribeca Festival in June.

The cast is led by Vito Schnabel (“Before Night Falls”) and includes Julia Fox (“Uncut Gems”), Lenny Kravitz (“The Hunger Games” series), Bella Thorne (“The Duff”), Paris Hilton, tennis champion John McEnroe, Gus Van Sant and Gavin Rossdale.

Joining them on screen are Gina Gershon (“Bound”), Stephen Dorff (“Blade”), Beverly D’Angelo (“National Lampoon’s Vacation”), Taylour Paige (“Zola”), Luka Sabbat (“Grown-ish”), Soo Joo Park (“Sense8”), Brock O’Hurn (“The Righteous Gemstones”), Laird Hamilton (“Point Break”), Duke Nicholson (“Us”), Colleen Camp (“Clue”) and Finneas O’Connell, who won Oscars for original song for “No Time to Die” and “Barbie,” both shared with sister Billie Eilish.

The film chronicles eight days in the tumultuous life of Jack (Schnabel), a beleaguered fitness trainer in Los Angeles who embarks on a manic journey to achieve his version of the American Dream.

The film is produced by Kaye, Schnabel and Jeremy Steckler (“Spiderhead,” “Doom”).

Tannaz Anisi, president of 13 Films, said: “We are excited to bring ‘The Trainer,’ and what we think is one of the most star-studded casts to the Croisette in years. Tony Kaye’s visionary direction shines through his deep creative collaboration with Vito Schnabel that cements its place in history as part of Kaye’s legendary filmography.”

13 Films will also be presenting market premiere screenings of SXSW darling “A Nice Indian Boy,” starring Karan Soni (“Deadpool” franchise, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”) and Jonathan Groff (“Hamilton,” “The Matrix Resurrections”) as well as “Beneath,” starring Olga Kurylenko (“Thunderbolts*,” “Oblivion”), Jenny Seagrove (“Peripheral,” “Nate and Hayes”), alongside several new soon-to-be announced films to the Marché du Film in Cannes.
